I've always enjoyed this kind of gameplay, plus I really love the are style!

Thank you for playing! I'm really glad that you had fun with it. Always fun to watch people figure out the game for the first time :D

What a cool game, thanks! But I am hopelessly stuck on level 47...any help??

heya! I can't remember that level off hand but I definitely will give it a look. I know some of those later ones are pretty brutal haha

It would be really sweet if you could give it a look!

Nevertheless, thanks for this awesome puzzler!

I'm on a business trip for the next few days so I won't be able to look into it until early next week, but I definitely will :D

Thank you! :D

Completed! What a cool game, wish there were more levels!

Thank you! I'm glad you had fun with it. I have a few ideas on more level mechanics, so maybe some day I'll get back to it. In the meantime I'm working on another kind of game :) https://tallbeard.itch.io/raise-the-dead-for-fun-and-profit

+1 for Linux

Yeah for sure! I want to get a Mac and Linux build out there soon :)

That would be really great!

My only concern with releasing on Max/Linux is that since I don't have computers with those builds, I need to rely on players to be the testers, which can understandably lead to some frustration when things don't work :) I just installed the Linux build module for this version of Unity so when I post an update this weekend there should be a Linux build too!

Just added the Linux build (along with some bug fixes and quality of life things). Will be posting a dev log tomorrow :D

Very cool idea. Really like the style!

Thanks very much! This was my first attempt at 1-bit style graphics. It was a lot harder than I expected!

Great game! :)
would be even greater if I could use a controller 🎮

(+1)

Yeah I agree. Am hoping to get a good controller system in place in a future update.

Great work! I just gave it a raw play through on my feedback channel, as is my tradition I managed to mess up the tutorial but the game really shines as a polished simple charming and fun puzzler.

I just realized the souls you pick up are named after Patreon supporters.. :)

Name: poetic android
Occupation: plumber
Cause of death: Boredom

yup.. sounds about right.. although I don't see myself becoming a plumber anytime soon.. :p

haha! Yeah I want to add more strange occupations and weird causes of death down the road as well just for fun.

Does it randomize the souls each run? I was kind of curious about that.

(1 edit)

The position of the souls are the same for each level. The name/occupation/cause of death are randomly pulled from a pool each time :)
